Wellbeing Technologies Lab

Wellbeing Technologies Lab
At The Wellbeing Technologies Lab at the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London, we work with stakeholders to advance technology for health and wellbeing. This includes research on human autonomy, agentic AI, conversational interfaces, and human computer interaction, for digital health and mental health to create human-centred, culturally-appropriate and community-informed technologies.

Prospective PhD Students
Imperial College London is consistently rated among the top 5 universities in the world. If you're interested in doing a PhD at the Wellbeing Technologies Lab, please send the following to: Rafael Calvo at "r.calvo at imperial dot ac dot uk".
Your resume
A copy of your transcript
A short explanation of how you hope to fund your studies. (Check the scholarships page for ideas).
A short proposal of your project idea. I would expect 2-3 pages written in proper academic English, with bibliographical references. It should allow me to understand the merit of your project proposal and its relevance to the work we do. A good way to start is by browsing some of our publications.
If your interests and qualifications match our current availability, we will ask you to write a more complete proposal and invite you for an online interview.
Some key opportunities and deadlines:
Imperial College President’s Scholarship (applications 3 times per year: early November, early Jan, mid March)
Design Engineering Scholarships (Specific to our School)
AI in health care CDT (early Jan), LISS DTP
If you have been accepted, please follow the post-acceptance process.
